For the regular equity market, trading runs from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm Indian Standard Time, Monday to Friday. There is a pre-open session from 9:00 to 9:15 am, in which orders are collected to set the opening price.

The market is closed on weekends and on exchange holidays. Special sessions, such as the Muhurat session on Diwali, have their own timings.

Hours can be changed by the exchanges, so check the official NSE and BSE websites for the latest timings and holiday list.
