Should beginners trade crypto with leverage?

Chris Taylor Asked 2 days ago 1.8K views

Some exchanges offer 50x or 100x leverage on Bitcoin. Is it a good way to grow a small account?

I would say no. Crypto is already very volatile, and leverage makes a normal 10% move dangerous. With high leverage a small move against you can liquidate the whole position.

Beginners are better off learning on the spot market with small amounts, practising stops and understanding how fees work. If you try leverage later, use low leverage, keep position sizes small and only use money you can afford to lose completely.
